When is the best time to visit Mikumi?

The dry season, from June to October, is best for game viewing, because animals gather around the water. Mikumi is open all year, but the long rains (March to May) can make some tracks muddy.

Day 1

1)Day one: FLY FROM ZANZIBAR TO MIKUMI

We pick you up from your hotel at 6:00 AM for a direct flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park, landing inside the park. Your first game drive starts straight away, with a lunch stop and an hour’s rest, then continues until about 5:30 PM. Back at the hotel for a shower, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

2)Day two: Full day of game drives

After breakfast, spend the whole day on game drives, looking for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and buffalo. Dinner and overnight stay in Mikumi.

Day 3

3)Day three: RETURN TO ZANZIBAR

Early breakfast, then fly back to Zanzibar, arriving around 10:00 AM. We drive you back to your hotel.

Your game drive starts straight away, with a stop for lunch and an hour's rest. At around 3:00 PM we head back to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar.
