Jozan Forest Tour

Jozani Forest is a very unique place, a national park forest on the island. On 44 square kilometers live endemic Red Colobus monkeys – one of the most endangered primates in the world. It is estimated that there are now 2,000-2,500 monkeys. In contrast to other species of monkeys which tend to be mischievous, Red Colobus are friendly and easy to approach. They come closer and seem to be relaxed and un-bothersome. They won’t steal your hat or take your camera. Just the opposite – they will rather walk by you. It’s a perfect moment to take a funny picture of a money looking into your eyes.

This jungle is their home. It’s a place where they get born, grow up, mate and give birth to their offsprings. Discover this fantastic species during our Monkeys Tour Zanzibar.

You will get to experience a real jungle in Zanzibar! Explore the mangrove and if you get lucky – see bush babies and lizards. Apparently, there are 50 different species of butterflies and 40 species of birds available there. Also, some of the plants and trees of the forest are medical and are being used as natural remedies.

Jazoni forest is a great place to rest and recharge. Just by looking at the green trees and walk in the forest you will feel the bond with nature. Your guide will walk with you through the reserve and tell you all the secrets of the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park.
